Rai "El Toro" Garcia-Singh
1998 EFBB British Bodybuilding Champion-Personal Trainer,
Animal Conservationist and a BMW Motorbike Adventurer.
My interest in training started at high School, watching my Head of 6th Form, Sir David Tanner training the Coxless four rowing team in preparation for the Moscow Olympics.
There I had my first taste of weight training….
Bodybuilding came to me in 1987…and started my journey towards competing in the British Bodybuilding Championships 11yrs later which I won. Its was such an amazing achievement
and a great memory for me. A lot of hard work and dedication.
During the years leading to moving to Jersey I have trained many Nationally Ranked
Bodybuilders trained one of the top British Bodybuilders at the beginning of his career who
is now a Top Professional World Class Bodybuilder.
Before moving to Jersey I spent 18 months gaining my Personal Trainer Award which meant completing eight courses.
On moving to Jersey I offered my services to Jersey Rugby Club which they duly accepted
so I became the first Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Club. I introduced my method
of training and fitness with the club. Very functional related strongman training and basic
Powerlifting methods…
... KEEP IT SIMPLE!
I had two amazing years there helping the players and club to two promotions and reaching National 1 Rugby. It was time to move on after these two amazing years …and focus more
on my Personal Training Business.
Something that is important is my continuous learning
in improving myself as a trainer/coach.
1.
Learning new techniques and scientific approaches to training.
2.
Attending courses run by the highest calibre instructors.
3.
Perfecting technique so that it is safe for a client to learn and teaching it
in a way so the client understands.
